THE FM25 IS A HEAVY CAST MORTICER WITH TABLES SLIDING ON INDEPENDENT HANDWHEELS AND BOASTING A MAXIMUM CAPACITY OF 25mm.

Our best selling model and still the only bench top morticer with an accurate sliding table system. Based on the tried and tested twin pillar design this machine features a cast iron table with X and Y movement. A screw thread work clamp securely holds the timber against the cast iron back fence. Next the operator adjusts the table position forwards or backwards using the fine control. After making the first cut a lever is used to move the table left & right for subsequent cuts, whilst the timber remains clamped. This is the most accurate and quickest way of working with a morticer, which is why you will always find it on industrial models. New for 2007 is the addition of a gas filled spring to control the weight of the head. Strong, reliable, accurate and designed for the professional workshop. Using cast iron throughout this morticer is capable of a 1" mortice into softwood timber 8" high. The weight of the head is supported by a gas filled spring so that the chisel can be positioned closer to the table which saves time when working with small timber. A chisel depth stop, left and right table movement stops and a timber position stop are fitted to this machine, making it ideally suited to a production environment removing the need for any marking out. The 3 dovetails used on the sliding parts all have an adjustable gib strip to counter any wear and maintain accuracy during the life of this machine, which will undoubtedly be a long one. Supplied with 4 chisel bushes for using both foreign 3/4" and 1.1/8" or British 13/16" and 1.3/16" chisels, NVR switch, screw thread work clamp, 1/2" chisel, chuck key, cable and plug. The optional dust kit will remove dust and chips from the cutting area allowing the operator better visibility and a cleaner working environment. The dust extraction kit can be fitted to any Charnwood W340 morticer and has a 100mm diameter outlet for connection to a dust extractor. There is also a choice of two optional floorstands. The standard splayed legs provide a strong and stable platform, whilst the cabinet type stand has a locking door and a shelf to store spare chisels and service tools.
