The Munro Hollowing Tools are the result of over ten years of experimentation with designs of this type of tool. It has the ability to remove material very quickly and precisely.
An excellent finish can be attained straight from the tool. The cutter is high speed steel, so the tip needs less sharpening and therefore lasts longer. As the tip is circular and is rotated a few degrees to a sharper area. It is only when the circle has been dulled that the tool needs sharpening. The hollowing tip is easy to sharpen by rotating on the supplied sharpening holder against a grindstone other types of tool can be difficult to hone accurately.

Articulated Mega Hollowing Tool Complete Set

The Munro mega hollowing tool is excellent for medium to large vessels. The complete kit includes the handle 38mm (1.1/2") x 485mm (19"), cutter head, shaft, 2 x 16mm (5/8") diameter straight links, 3 cutters and the sharpening dowel, The cushioned aluminium handle is light and gives excellent support when hollowing a very deep vessel, while leaving the user the option of adding shaot ballast if required. The tool shaft secures with a ball-knob screw, which when aligned with the cutter head, provides a visual reference of the cutter position within the hollow form. The maximum working length with the tool fully extended is about 350mm (14"), excluding the handle and the cutter head. Included is a special tool holder to facilitate sharpening and the required hex key wrenches. Also available are shear scraper holder kits with and without a shaft and a spare cutter pack

The Munro mini Hollowing tool
The Munro mini Hollowing Tool is great for small to medium vessels and is supplied with 3 cutters, two being spares. The cutter head is fully articulated. Also included are the tool holder for sharpening and a 3 in 1 hex key. The handle is 445mm (17.1/2") long and the retractable tool shaft is about 340mm (13.1/2") x 13mm (1/2") diameter. The maximum working length with the tool fully extended is about 280mm (11.1/2"), not counting the cutter head. A shear scraper and holding kit and a solid carbide cutter are also available.
